As soon as I read that talent I thought to myself... Why are Warriors getting another "closer" when they already have 2 charges and are getting a third?
My reasoning being, if a player has to choose between bleeding to death and standing still, and if the damage is reasonable enough to make standing still until it wears off a viable CHOICE for the player, this would be a perfect mechanic for a Paladin gap-closer.
So here's my idea:
"Reverance" - Instant Cast, 25 Yard Range. 10 second cooldown.
Applies a magic debuff to an enemy target. While moving, the target takes XXXX-XXXX damage per second. Lasts for 3 seconds. Moving refreshses the duration of this debuff to a maximum total duration of 15 seconds.
I chose 10 seconds for a cooldown because I felt it should be somewhere between Blink and Charge in terms of how often it could be used. The duration could possibly even be reduced to 3 or 4 seconds of having to stand still before the spell wears off. Since it's Magic, it can be dispelled by any healer as well, necessitating a relatievly shorter cooldown or it's meaningless.
An ability like this isn't a strict snare, and it's not a root so to speak either. It's also not, in my opinion anyway, force feeding Paladins another classes ability, giving it a cool sounding Holy name and calling it a day. "Holy Charge" and "Holy Intercept" would be lame. "Leap of Faith" was already taken, I sitll prefer "Life Grip!" lol
